Picked up one of these #4 reels (don’t know exactly which model) in a rod reel deal. I recall several years ago reading about them. I see their web site is still up, just never hear anything about them. Anyone fishing one in the trout models? Thoughts, comments? Thanks!
I have 5 Ryall’s from #4 to #10 and love them.My #8 is my go-to reel for the salt and the #6 is my freshwater favorite. The #4 has seen lots of trout and shad action over the years as well as smallmouth bass. These reels are tough and have great drags.Probably the best reels in their price range. They dont get much press but I rarely see them on EBAY if that tells you anything.Excellent reels and I dont think you will be dissapointed.
I bought a beaut 'boo rod off akalooker and searched for an appropriate reel to put on it - a green Ryall was the answer. It is just beautiful, first class engineering. I have a few “top end” reels incl Lamson, Galvan, Hardie and I have to say I really love this little Ryall. My only problem is that it doesn’t get fished enough! (Nor do the others!)
