Infected PT Nymph

In Nick Pujic’s article on Great Lakes browns he mentions an “infected PT nymph” as one of his top patterns. What the heck is this? The “PT” part is easy, but have no idea what is meant by “infected.” Help!

Hey BSB,

The infected PT nymph sports a red thorax. Warm regards, Jim

Thanks, Jim. Here in Montana we tie up small PT’s using dyed red pheasant tail and red ultrawire. Perhaps this is similar to the “infected” idea, and the trout seem to love them just fine.
