I'm Getting faster at fly tying

I wake around 8am have breakfast , tie 2 flies , break for lunch , tie 2 more . The wife announces Dinner is ready , where does the time go ? After dinner tie 2 more and its time for beddy bye .
I must be getting better it used to take me a whole week to tie 6 flies
Now if I only had time to visit the flyshop for more supplies .

lol!

I know what you are saying. I set down to tie a fly and the next thing I know it is tomorrow. Good thing I keep a calendar at my tying desk.

A while ago, I sat down stream side to tie a few flies and savour a JD. WHen I got home I was divorced

Just started tying a few weeks ago myself. Hardest part is finding supplies here. No fly shops in the cornfields. My hunting friends have been generous with pheasant tail and squirrel fur though. Two simple flies an evening for me.

Ricky, I don’t know where you are located in Ill.,but Bass Pro in Gurnee has a pretty nice fly shop with basic materials and usually a person tying on the weekends. I haunt hobby and craft stores for alot of my tying materials. I also have friends who drop off pelts and feathers.Be carefull not to introduce vermin into your inventory. I’ve also found a local hobby farmer who throws Pea fowl tail feathers my way. Enjoy the addiction.
