I (used to) never win anything

Well, an nice thankyou to the gang here @admin and the folks at Chota.

I was informed today by Deanna that I was drawn for the May prize.

I can’t wait to see this jacket. I was actually starting to look around 'cause my girlfriend and Junior are slowly “acquiring” quite a bit of my gear

Way to go Chris!

Congratulations Chris. They really do give
the prizes away here and anyone can win.
Aren’t ya glad it was you?G Warm regards,
Jim

Yup, … GGG

Almost missed the 3 day limit though 'cause I was on the trot.

Funniest thing is, … when I entered it had been raining here for like, the last 5 years, … This mornig I have a total of 300+ forest fires with a dozen or so OUT OF CONTROL in my timber supply areas.

The fish in will have nice weather, but I got some tired crews and tanker pilots dreaming for cool temps and rain.

Oh well, can’t please 'em all

Congrat’s Chris, May it now rain on your favorite fishing hole.

Something I seldom remember to do.

CG,

Don’t want it to rain on the FishIn, but we got over 6,000 lightning strikes the other evening.

I got pilots who maxed out their bombing time and we RAN OUT of AvGas on two forward attack bases.

Still, better 'n living in an asphalt junkle I guess.

guess I am going to have to get off my wallet and buy one now…sniff

so much water… so little time to fish it…

Sorry Chris,

I should have been more specific. Thats where my commet was headed. May it now rain on your favorite fishing hole, soooooooooooo, it will not burn in the fire and lose its beauty. But then it will always grow back even better than before. Worst part for the fish is the ash in the water.

Chris,
With as many fine posts as you contribute, you deserved to win something! Fine stuff too, hunh?? I’m glad for you.
Mike

My Girlfriend called me at the office to say that a box from Chota has arrived.

As she opened the box and found a nice wading jacket in it, guess who’ll be using it now

Will come in handy as it’s FINALLY raining here and the fires are dying down, (only need to salvage the 741,316 acres of forests that burned )

Thanks to Frank Bryant over at Chota and LF for running this show (well, … you too JC s)

(and to Richard who informed me that I had won part of the Mai draw).

The least I could do for all you contribute! May whomever wears it be warm, dry and hanging on to a very large fish soon. Rich

Good on ya Chris…and also, I hope it rains on your fire parade real soon. It’s gonna be a hot summer here in AZ with wild fires due to the heavy snowfall and rains of the winter which has encouraged big time undergrowth which dry out in the summer and become the next headline.

Again, congrats, Chris

Snow on the roof but with fire still in the hearth

Ayyyyyyyyyy!

Cool!!!

Your attitude determines your altitude!

Way to go Chris!

Hope Renee and Vincent enjoy the jacket. You didn’t actually think you’d get to wear it did you?

Can’t imagine losing that many acres to fire. Any near enough to disrupt your personal fishing habitat?

Grn Mt,

The boreal forest is a fire based system. Like the Yellow (ponderosa) plains in the southern interior of BC, but the cycles run about 150 - 400 years. They do get BIG though.

A medium sized (historically) wild fire here would be from 10000-20000 hectares (40-80000 acres). This year, they were large, not huge.

The firefighters worked to protect hydroelectric installations and a small town of about 15000 habs.

The aquatic habitas aren’t really damaged as there is no real problems in terms of silt etc. There is some leaching of minerals and such into the waters, but nothing nature hasn’t been handling for over 10000 years already

It’s raining cats ‘n dogs and we’re smilin’

Forecast is for execellent weater in the next few days, … clouds, 65’s and light showers.

The river on my home waters should be PERFECT for our first outing this coming friday

The fires were mostly up north of 50 in the Black spruce boreal forest. My waters are down here in the “south”. Had a really small fire, … maybe 4000 acres in the game reserve next upper reaches here, but nothing to worry about.
