?I Stink at Tying Dries? Swap **FULL**

I stink at tying dry flies and I realized that almost all of my swap flies have been nymphs and streamers. So I decided to challenge myself and eleven other people who also believe that they stink at tying dries. Any style and size of dry fly goes. Don?t even bother telling us which fly you?ll be tying because if you stink at dries as bad as me, you might need to try on a few before you settle on one to swap. Limit will be 12 tiers, including me. YOU MUST STINK AT TYING DRY FLIES TO JOIN THIS SWAP. Rank beginners welcome. Unrepentent wooly bugger specialists, popper freaks, and clouser club members also welcome. Create 12 of the same dry fly and send them in with toe tags (at least your name and name of fly), crush-proof container, self-addressed envelope with return postage. YOU MUST BE ON TIME with your flies. If you send them in after the deadline, they?ll be returned to you unopened and the rest of us will be bummed.

To sign up, it?s first come, first served. No Wulff-wizards, Adams-aces, or Gordan-gods need apply.

(yes that?s way in the future but if you stink as much as you think you do, you might be able to use the time to procrastinate, practice, get supplies, whatever)

Eric-WD

You’re in, Eric. No need to announce your pattern.

I would like to invent somthing for this if I could.

Sounds good, can I get in?

Fish4trout, you’re in. And bwo2… you’re in on one condition. Do you promise that you stink at tying dries? A name like bwo2 makes me think you’re an outstanding olive tyer!

:x OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!Sure here we ago with one of them there special rules/invitational/must drive a Chevy/color brown eyes /left handed swaps designed to limit the rest of us from participating…its just wrong I tell ya wrong … : :x not fair … I wanna play

OK I’m over it now :stuck_out_tongue:

 Diane, Sounds like Fun count me in.
Thanx Bill

Well Diane, I can safely say that nobody has every accused me of tying pretty dry flies so I guess that qualifies me for a shot at this one. I’ll study on some and let you know what I’ll send. Sounds like a fun one.

Thanks Diane! Finally, a swap I’m qualified to join. Please sign me up.

Best,
Will

bdesavage, alra195, and greyfox are in! Five spots left.

As for you, ny angler… Chevy, brown eyes, and RIGHT handed. And if you want into my swaps you have to stop outfishing me every freaking time we go out! :stuck_out_tongue:

Count me in please. Anything that will get me motivated to learn some dry techniques is good.

Thanks!

Mike

well I’ve never actually tied a dry fly, altho I have tied some boadaciously monsterous creations that wont sink with less than 16oz of weight…

So, since I have never tied a true dry fly, I’m sure that the complete suckability of watever I tie will qualify me for this swap… Sooooo count me in please

I’m sitting here chomping at the bit to get into a swap, and like NY Angler I’m being discriminated against because I CAN actually tie dry flies so I’m disqualified.

That being said, after looking at the low number of postings by some of the participants, this should be a fun swap for newbies to get their feet wet with dries (did that come out right?).

Have fun and I can hardly wait to see the finished flies.

Joe

BTW, I drive a Chevy van, have brown eyes, USED to have brown hair, and am right handed. What do I qualify for?

mjsmith and bubba gump, you’re in!

sorry, joe. more swaps coming soon. always are this time of year.

Me out fish you ??? :o Everybody knows I couldn’t catch a fish even if I stood in line at Mc Donalds on a Friday night during Lent!!! And as far as my dry flies … only one I’m good at is the freeze dried ones you find on the window sill glued to a hook with super glue!!!

I tie a very BELOW AVERAGE elk hair cadus, may I get in on this?

Trust me, it might float but it probably won’t be recognizeable.

You’re in, StCroixGuy. Hey… I used to live near the St.Croix. Paddled it a number of times. Lived in Webster, WI and then Duxbury, MN.

I would like to try this one. Stan
