I replaced my 35 foot section of level, included-in-combo, sometime-float-or-sometimes-sink line with new WF line. I went out to cast it, and it was 1000x better… that is until i got to 30 feet. I could no longer straighten it out on the back cast. Please tell me WF 6F means its 6 weight line.
It does…I’ll bet you are aerializing past the WF section of the line and loosing the efficient transfer of energy.
So my line is designed to be cast 30 feet?
I could have done that with my old crappy line
no Anthony it means that it is designed to arealise 30 ft, then it is meant for shooting after that, in the right hands it is more than possible to cast a full line plus backing with a weight forward line.
Born to fish, forced to work.
Oh. I see. Well it did shoot pretty good. And it was very forgiving on the forward cast, even if i made a bad back cast.
I should have gotten the DT
You will be able to that line any distance you want if you impove your techniqe
Wellsince I had a 30 foot line before, I couldnt really improve my technique, but it looks like im going to have to hit the driveway more and more
The most common problem is NOT stopping the rod in both directions. Read, print out, and take outside with your rod, do it: [url=http://www.flyanglersonline.com/cst/cst3498.html:e870c]http://www.flyanglersonline.com/cst/cst3498.html[/url:e870c]

The method I use to catch large gills is I use a wooly bugger sized so that only the large ones could fit it in their mouths
“no Anthony it means that it is designed to arealise 30 ft, then it is meant for shooting after that, in the right hands it is more than possible to cast a full line plus backing with a weight forward line.”
Not entirely. I have never heard it described as such. It is a weight forward line, and probably casts optimally with 30 feet out of the tip (depending on the rod too), but can arealise way more than that. Why would they make it 100 feet long? So you can shoot the last 70 feet?
Anthony,You forgot to change the date on the picture???
Yeah whenevr I change the batteries the date resets and i dont feel like setting it. I didnt even own the camera on that date
I tried it again today and it seemed better. Expect the fact that casting in kenmore sqaure is no easy feat. I had to wait for there to be no cars on the bussy highway behind me, and no joggers or bikers on the path behind me.
I guess after driving a 85 ford pickup I cant expect to get into a 2006 BWM and drive it perfectly.
