I do hope you folks are not getting tired of these...

This is another Military Rod but the first I have done for the Air Force. The recipient served 27 years and retired a full Bird Colonel.

This is a 9’, 4pc, 5w AmTac Matrix blank. The reel seat and ends of the grip are Ebony. Dick Ross helped me out with the carbon fiber on the grip. The trim is aluminum and blue acrylic.

I am learning a lot about what ribbons are important to various vets and am finding it very interesting. This woman was in 3 different combat zones in her career, but those were not the awards she valued most. The awards that are displayed were earned for doing things that women were not supposed to be able to do and that many men of higher rank at the time had not been able to accomplish. Dad, also a career Air Force Officer, is quite proud of how his daughter’s career turned out, and rightly so. Put this woman in a dress uniform and there would ba about 2 POUNDS of medals if not more.

On to the pics!

Never, nice rod! Excellent reason for building them…

Keep up coming…

Be safe

No Kevin, I don’t think I could ever get tired of seeing these.

Like Steve said …Keep them coming

Another beautiful job Kev. Was that airborne wing for an Air Force Colonel, I’m thinking that’s something you don’t see everyday. We have a friend from my wife’s childhood who retired a LTC in the USAF, I doubt she fishes but I think she would get a kick out of seeing these photos.

She went to Jump School and earned her wings. I learned that Officers that attended the AFA were much more likely to have Jump Wings than enlisted men or other officers. There is a Jump School at the Academy where the cadets can earn Jump Wings or they can attend the Army Jump School.

Kevin, beautifull work.

I never tire of seeing nice rods.

 Beautiful!

The rod came out looking great! Glad I could help out on the grip. I learned alot trying mate up different materials to the CF,especially in the transition areas.

Very nice rod Kevin. I never get tired of looking at your work. It’s inspiring. Jim

while I’m usually not a big fan of the carbon fiber grip I do really like the look of this. the way the weave plays off the weave in the blank and the whole color scheme not to mention the really clean work. yup that is one killer rod.

How can we get tired of them? They’re awesome. I’m an Army guy, but the Air Force rod is top drawer. Please don’t quit making them.

Remember the Air Force is the Army’s only child, who just isn’t into sleeping outside.
