Howdee!

Well, I noticed Anthony and a few others introducing themselfs. I have been posting here as of late, cause I like what I see.
I would like to tell a little of my self, so you don’t think that I am an Elitist or snob.
I grew up in Idaho with the Snake River as my back yard so I have fished all my life. The past 20 or so years I have been total fly fishing I have also been tying about 25 yrs. I worked for a major rod company for a little less than 4 yrs and with the discount I built a very nice collection of rods. I do like the finer things such as Winston, Sage, and bamboo. I am a perfectionist, but only to myself.
I have taught fly tying, casting and an occasional guide.
Living in the Rocky Mountains, I love the Cutts, Browns, Rainbow, & brookies, which is not to say I don’t like the warm water species, I do, but I fish more for these.
I live to fish and play rock and roll to live, I LOVE MY LIFE.
I also want to clarify, I have an overseas car, stereo, TV and several other items, but I am a firm believer, that we need to purchase more American made. So with that said, somethings it is tough but with my recreational supplies, I will buy USA and hard pressed to do differently regardless of price. Anyway, that is me, Fly Goddess
Joni

Welcome!!! Check out the Fish-Ins some time. Lot of great people around here. We don’t all agree on many things but wouldn’t it be a boring world if we did. Haven’t met anbody yet from here that I wouldn’t love to share a stream with.

We DO SO agree on everything here mantis

Welcome Fly Goddess, hope your time here is as fun and informational as mine has, and hopefully continues, to be.

Born to fish, forced to work.

Hey Fly Goddess,

Were already somewhat aquainted, but welcome to the family.

You will be suprised to find out how much great info is on this board and shared amongst it’s members, it just keeps growing.

This is a great place to hang your hat and meet some new friends, hope you soon call it home, I know I have.

The owners of this site, JC and Ladyfisher are very dedicated to their baby and to us. I know I feel like I’ve been adopted into the family. Besides they are fishing fanatics and just great people.

Hope you find this a place you can come share and be at peace. I’ll save you and Alan a spot around the campfire ring to sit.

Terry

…nice fish, beautiful background…

Fly Goddess,

Welcome aboard! Appreciate your comments on my 'Boo thread.

Don’t forget we have the chatroom door open and a nice fire to warm yourself by (no wet waders on the furniture).

This place is full of friendly fly fishers who are more than willing to share information and ideas with like others.

If you haven’t participated in a fly swap before, there are some great ones on the fly swap board. Great way to fill your fly boxes with new flies.

Oh yeah, the new folks make the coffee and chop the fire wood. Judging by the number of new folks, you’ll have plenty of help.

Tight Lines and Best Fishes,

REE

Fly Goddess,

When you say you “play rock & roll”, do you mean play it on your home/car sound system, or do you mean you are a performing rock musician and/or singer?

A few years ago during a summer vacation to McCall, ID, I had just bought a 3-wt. fly rod and was “talkin’ fishing” with the woman who manages the time share place where I was staying. She said when she was a little girl growing up on an Idaho farm that a small, narrow creek ran across their pasture and every year it would get bank-to-bank full of migrating salmon. Have you ever seen anything like that? It seems incredible that those fish can travel inland as far as they do (or used to). That woman, she related this story to me very wistfully, thinking back on the glory years before all those big river dams got built that cut off so many local salmon runs.

I fished the East Fork of the Salmon about 3 years ago. Had a great time, caught some rainbows and intend to go back.

Welcome to the site!

Joe

Hi Fly Goddess,

Welcome to the group. Please feel free to join in with suggestions, opinions, and comments. With your considerable experience in fly fishing and tying, I’ll look forward to hearing from you. 8T

You had better learn to be a happy camper. You only get one try at this campground and it’s a real short camping season.

Thank you ALL so much. JC & Lady Fish, I love this forum, great job.
Mantis, took me a minute to figure out Fish in, but I got it. August could be good, we normally go to Henry’s, but we are going to wait till Oct. this year.
Jake Hise, the chat room sounds like a great idea, I am always up late with nothing to do but watch TV. And in answer to you Joe Hyde, I am a musician/singer in a Rock and Roll band. Play bass and keyboards. I grew up in Glenns Ferry (about 60 miles east of Boise) We had trout, catfish and sturgeon.
Noahs Boyz, I just finished up a fly swap on another forum (they are going to love my 32’s, he,he,he, but I also threw in my chironomid) I will be tying at the Idaho Falls fly tying expo in April.

You’re talking MY back yard now Flygoddess. I’m pretty fortunate to live in SE Idaho, with all the opportunity here. I’d seen some of your earlier posts talk of growing up with the Snake River in your back yard, and wondered if you were a “local”. I guess folks that live(d) West of Twin Falls are Idahoans too. It’s a loooong river. I’ll see you at the EXPO. I’ll be looking for the lady with the size 32 in her vise. Welcome aboard!

Welcome FG, I really enjoy your posts. Your wit and frankness lends a perspective to what is soorly needed in an otherwise fraturnity of wand wavers and elitest nimcompoops. I am of course speaking for myself. As you have atested to, this is a beautiful group of people with great intentions and a wealth of knowledge regarding our favorite pastime, fly fishing. I look forward to many winter evenings around the ole flat screen and summer days keeping up with the fly goddess’s of the world. Again, nice to meet you here. Very sincerly, Jonezee

Glad to have you FG. Music and FF seem to go hand in hand I’d say. Thanks for filling us in on your background.

Joni,
It’s nice to have a real name along with your handle…not to mention your picture…

In a short time you have contributed a lot and very valued…I will count you as one of those I look forward to in this great site…

You all are so sweet, you’re making me cry. Sincerely, I love you man - men & women

Welcome Joni,
Fishin and rock n rollin, sounds like a winner to me. Youve obviously got lots of fishing knowlege, etc. and Ive enjoyed your posts. I just took the plunge myself and joined a few weeks ago. Lots of great people that make this forum what it is, and looks like you’ll fit right in.
