Thin deer hair wing so gill can get around it.

Since the foam provides plenty of floatation why not replace the deer hair wing with something softer like antron and/ or squirrel tail?

Perform a YouTube search for “GFA hopper fly pattern”. Its a quick and easy pattern to tie.

They look nice and the trout will love them.
