I have seen photos of all those who I admire and associate her with on FAOL. Tthis would be me doing whatI secondly admire most in ife…next to fly fishing. The ole girl Yankee Lady, B-17 at the Willow Run Airport in Michigan. To fly with the Lady is like none other…to fly fish is also like non other …
Jonezee,
One of the best B-17 movies ever, 12:00 High starring Gregory Peck. It was a no BS movie that gave a look into the stressful lives of those brave crews. It also would have been helpfull if the Germans hadn’t had such effective antiaircraft guns.

I don’t know what size that pic was before you re-sized it but it is only about 1 millimeter now on my screen.
I know what you mean I got to ride in a b25 as it “bombed” the Penticton Control tower where I worked." That was a huge amount of fun. The duty controllers voice had a bit of a catch to it as he said “Thats not exactly what I meant when I gave permisson for a low and over”
 Took me a few seconds to realize that tiny dot up in the upper left corner was a picture. Sorry - my screen resolution just isn’t up to it.
ya, jonzee, could you make it just a little bigger? Great shot of a fine old girl. When they are way oversized it scrolls not only it’s post, but all others on the page.
Thank you for your service. My best friends Father served in the 1st infantry on D-Day, my Uncles served in the Navy, Army Air Corps, and under Patton. I was born late in my fathers life  .
I am very proud of them all and the love and respect I have for everyone who served in that war is great. I have never had to serve in a war and for that I owe those that have more than I can express or repay.
Sheldon - If every man and woman had to fight in a war to preserve freedom we would be in a bad way. It is the few who protect the many. Just as police, firemen work day and night to keep us safe so do our armed forces men and women. I am 59 years old, I wasn’t even born when the Yankee Lady fought to protect England but I did serve in the Air Force in Vietnam. I love old planes and try to make it up in a vintage bird every chance I get. I flew in propeller driven aircract in 1966 in Vietnam, probably the last war to incorperate such planes in warfare. So many have ended up in the scrap yard, it is nice to help keep some of them around. It is amazing how far we have come with aircraft in such a short time in history. Glad you acknowledge and appreciate our military, that is why they are still out there protecting us today. I for one am glad you and others never need to fight in a war. Best good wishes, Jonezee
