Help with an Oath!

Boy Scout Oath.
On my honor, I will do my best, to do my duty to God and my country. To help other people at all times. To keep myself physically fit, mentally awake, and morally strait.
I haven’t recited that since 1955. Have I missed anything?

You know if you were to remove the word Scout from the oath that would be a great oath/theme for all to live by.

Just for fun-
A Scout is. . .
Trustworthy
Loyal
Helpful
Friendly
Courteous
Kind
Obedient
Cheerful
Thrifty
Brave
Clean
and Reverent

And always remember to do your best and do a good turn daily

A wonderful book is “The Scouting Way” A daily guide to living with scout values by Sandra & Jeff Schwartz. It’s set up with inspirational story that illustrate the scout Oath and law with real life examples. If you want to shed a tear the story on patriotism by John McCain is worth the price of the book. Completing my 13th year as a scout leader and I’ve received more than I can ever give back. Robb Howard

Hey Okie,

You forgot the most important, especially if you are in charge of the groceries:

A Scout is HUNGRY!

Don

Outdoor code:
As an American I will do my best to be clean in my outdoor manners, be careful with fire, be courteous to others and be conservation minded.

And Be Prepared!

You guys forgot the part about :
To do my duty to God and the Queen . Scouting was started by an Englishman after all . ha ha .

Your absolutly right about it being a good oath/theme to live by .

If You think you are a person of infulence , try ordering someone else’s dog around .

My scout friends always said:

On my honor I’ll do my best,
To help the Girls Scouts get undressed.
