Help me pick a wing material.

I am tying a dry caddis pattern to match an insect I recently saw on a local body of water and want to tie something other than just an EHC in a different color combo (although I am doing that too  ).

I wanna try a tent type wing and am trying to find a material that is a kind of translucent cream color and won’t be too bulky on a #14-16 hook.

Any ideas?

Do you have any cream colored hen hackle? Spray one with art fixative and cut a wing out of it and tie in.

The most recent issue of Flyfisherman magazine has a “Web wing Caddis” by John Barr that might be just the thing you are looking for, check it out :!:

I don’t know what you want to imitate but you might try a loop wing with either CDC or Zlon. Both would help it float and not be too bulky.

Gonna get some of the web wing and try it. Thanks everyone!

This one is easy to tie and has been famous in Europe for many years, much more so than here. It works.
