Deanna, sorry to hear of your loss. May you find the strength and love that will carry you through this most difficult time.
Deanna: I am sorry to hear of your loss. I don’t know that there is a thing we can do to help, but, if there is, call on us.
Deanna,
I cannot express my condolences enough in your sorrow. I know that in time you will remember the best of times.
“He told us about Christ’s disciples being fishermen, and we were left to assume, as my brother and I did, that all first-class fishermen on the Sea of Galilee were fly-fishermen and that John, the favorite, was a dry-fly fisherman.”
Norman MacLean, A River Runs Through It
I’m sure JC is giving John casting adjustments in heaven…
My condolences as well, LadyFisher. JC’s memory will be a blessing to all who knew him and the flyfishing world.
Ladyfisher; I am so sorry to hear of your lost ( and ours ). I never met him in person, but felt like I knew him. My heartfelt condolences to you.
My condolences and prayers are with you. An incredible loss to the entire flyfishing community.
Steve
Dear Deanna,
Words are very difficult to find at a time like this but be assured that all of the FAOL community have you and your family very much in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. I do not think a speedy recovery from the loss of one’s life time partner can ever be accomplished but our hopes are that time will heal the very acute pain you must feel now and that you will take comfort in the support of the many friends here and the memories you cherish of your good times together.
Sincerely,
Gerri Seager
I am very sorry for your loss Deanna. I pray that God will comfort you in your time of loss and will continue to pray for you. JC was a very nice person and I enjoyed the time that I had to visit with him when I sold him the Montague Clear Lake that he wrote about. If you need anything please let me know. God Bless! James
Shattered by this terrible news.
A great loss to the flyfishing community, and especially to his beloved.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Sad news very sad. Deanna You are in my thoughts at this time of sadness in the hope that the sadness will pass and you will be able to smile again soon. Stay Well. Jax in New Zealand
I have read and reread all of these threads at least three times hoping this was NOT real!!! However it looks as if it is real and I couldn’t think of anything to even say. Know as I read it all again I realize how much JC has meant to me in these few years that I have known him thru this sight.
I only met him last year in Idaho but it seem as I have known him forever.
Deanna, I can’t even think of what to say except you are in my prayers.
Byron
Deanna,
May your sorrows will be lightened by the knowledge that there are many that would help you bear them. It may be small comfort, but I couldn’t even begin to imagine the number of folks who have been launched into and guided through the journey of fly fishing by James’ work. As one of those folks I will always be thankful. You are in our prayers.
My condolences and prayers. R.I.P.

My most sincere condolences Deanna, although we have never met, we have corresponded. The insight and wisdom of James has enlightened many, myself included.
I truly wish I had met the man and I really hope to meet you.
I wish you all the best for the future and rest easy knowing that the “Man” is casting to trophy fish now.
