I have 4 colors of Hares ear dubbing and put some orange feather barbs across the front in two spots to make gills. I them trim the feahter barbs near the body.
These have worked welll for me on warmwater fish.
Also tied up some flies usning some llama hair that I got.
Are you taking one or two turns of hackle at the front and laying the hackle back like on a wetfly? Or are you just putting one barb (fiber) on each side at the front?
Just curious . Thanks.
