Gunna do it!

Duly named. Waiting for paint to dry, then back to the epoxy turner! Then, pictures!

Can’t wait to see the pictures. I’ve been following this thread since it started. So glad you’re back in the saddle again Betty.

Waiting, waiting, waiting, Rawhide…
Way to go Betty!

Now I feel like the proud uncle-to-be who came up with the name for the baby. I’m ready to see the baby pictures.

Uncle Larry

Betty, I am not a rod builder and rarely come to this portion of the site. However, if it give you inspiration, I just took out the #4 St Croix you built for me in 08 after the MI Fish-In. Although it is one of many rods I have, it is still one of my favorites and has caught many fish. Thank you so much and good lucky with your re-start.

[](http://s32.photobucket.com/user/gmahiney/media/P2281967 1_zpseliua0mx.jpg.html)Here ya go… not my best effort, but it’s my best effort in 5 years … I see things I already want to change, but , it looks lovely in the sunlight, and I think it’ll fish well. It feels wonderful to the hand!!

Very nice, Betty! I am sure you will get great enjoyment from fishing it. Now, where are those pics of the singed hair?

Ted

LOL, Ted!!

Awww…what a cute little tyke.

Uncle Larry

Lovely work, girl, you still got it!

Thank you.

Sweeet rod for a Sweeeet lady!
Glass does handle wonderfully in the hand, yes?
Great job SWB.

I see you built the rod with a down lock reel seat. Would have been my choice too. Matter of fact, that is about all I use anymore. Like the look and the way the rod balances with the down locker. Betty, what color is that thread? Good work kiddo…don’t be too hard on yourself!

Brad

Beautiful work from a beautiful swamp witch. I hope that it is the first in a long line of excellent rods to bear the moniker “Swamp Witch”.

Thank you all for having more faith in me than I did!!

Brad … the thread I used for this on was a Fish Hawk variegated orange. I don’t remember the exact name, but it came out really nice … light orange through a deep brown almost black. That with the agate guide on the dark blue bank? I’m happy. Today is opening day on the Missouri trout fields. No way I’d be there for that … can you spell insane? BUT, I will be there in the next few weeks, and will give this little gem a try out.

Congratulations Betty!! Really nice work. “You did it”, or something to that effect, as the actress said in the movie Legally Blonde. Not insinuating that you are blonde. Good luck with the new rod.
