Gudebrod Thread

As mentioned by lesyoung on his post on the main board; Gudebrod is working its way out of the fly tying business.

I contacted Gudebrod and they told me their stock of materials and inventory should be capable of filling orders for at least 6-8 months.

So if you are a Gudebrod thread fan, you better stock up or be prepared to switch to another brand.

Good info, thanks. Now if someone can tell me when books go out of print :?

Bill

My contact at Gudebrod alluded that they will continue making the thread for Orvis but if you know your Gudebrod, you realize that Orvis doesn’t sell the full range of colors from the Borger System that Gudebrod does. If I get clarification on the Orvis deal I’ll post it if anyone is interested.

As a precaution, yesterday I ordered a lifetime supply of thread in the colors I use, just in case!

Bamboozle,

I looked at Gudebrod’s web site and did not find a way to order thread. Who did you order the thread from and how?

Thanks

Vinny

Vinny:

Sorry I missed your question. I ordered my Gudebrod from [url=http://www.versitex.com/versitex/product.html?Id=FTTGBCCOL:b6044]Versitex[/url:b6044]. They are who Gudebrod will tell you to order from if you contact them since they are right down the road from Gudebrod and carry all the colors.

After that it can be tough to find although Cabela’s does sell some colors.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Bamboozle,

Thanks for the tip. Gudebrod in 10/0 is my favorite thread for everything from midges to Salmon flies.
