Has anyone on here fished the Green below Fontanelle Dam in Wyoming? With the Logan and Blacksmith Fork blowing out these past few weeks, a buddy and I are looking for some fishing opportunities and thought we would try out the Green.
Any must-have patterns (that aren’t personal secrets)? I am planning on bringing a number of weighted nymphs (PTs, Copper Johns, Brassies) and some midge dries. Might actually bring along the tying materials just in case.
A good place to start is the Seeskadee wildlife refuge. They may have some info and be able to give you the name of a shop to get names of flies that are working. My brain just went dead on the names of any shops, oh yea, the Fontenelle Store, 307-877-3561 may be some help.
What days are you planning to come up?
Thinking of coming up Sunday for the day. Weather is looking good as of now. Wish I could take a longer trip, but too much work to do. This will be the first day off I have taken in three weeks!
We were looking into fishing at Seeskadee, looks like a great place. Thanks for the help!
DARN!! I’m working this weekend, so I’m out unless you want to drop by the plant, FMC, just a little North West of Little America, okay you won’t want to waste good fishing time. Maybe next time. From the damn on down thru Seedskadee there are several very easily accessed spots if you are just wading, and several very good boat launching sights if you go that way. If you’ve there before, you already know this. Best of luck to you. I have never been good at remembering what flies work when.
