Guys - I am still waiting for one more set of flies to come in before I distribute them. Hopefully they come in the next few days because I will be in Charleston for two weeks. If this causes you any heartburn, I can bring them with me in my suitcase and mail from South Carolina.
Has anyone heard from or seen sparkeymat on here? I have tried contacting him and haven’t been able to. I’d like to get the flies out to everyone as soon as I can but I am still waiting on his set. I may send out shortly what has been sent in if I do not hear back.
What is happening? The flies were supposed to be done and in your hands over a month ago. Over 2 weeks ago you said that you had not received 1 set of flies, but that you would send them out soon. I have not received mine yet. I don’t know if anyone else has or not. The last we heard from you was over 2 weeks ago and the flies long over due to the swap members. Please let us know what is going on.
Guys - I am sending out the flies I have in as of today. I apologize for the hold up and hope you enjoy(ed) this swap. If you have any comments, advice, questions, criticisms, etc please get a hold of me.
I stopped by the post office today and verified that all correct postage was posted to make sure everyone got the flies without any problems. I’d appreciate if each of you could send me a quick PM when you get them in. Since we had one member drop out, I put an extra swap fly (on random) in each set.
I can personally speak that these flies work! I replicated a few patterns and gave them a try. Seems to me like these flies will for sure get some fish on the end of your lines. Stay warm, grease the guides, and good luck on the water!
Chris
How was the 2 weeks in Charleston? Understand reasoning for the lateness but I agree, give up on the recalcatrant one and get him barred from partipating in any future swaps. If something came up, he should have contacted you and dropped out. NO FLYS + NO CONTACT = BARRED!!!
Gentleman,
Before we chase down the street with pitchforks lets remember the reason we do these swaps (for enjoyment).
I understand the delivery of the swap flies has been delayed for circumstances that are not particularly favorable (waiting on an unresponsive swap member). I do greatly appreciate everyone’s patience. Every active person has been a gem to deal with in this swap.
Please know that I have contacted another swapmeister in which this individual is on the swap list. If a similar encounter is found within the swap I will contact an administrator.
Otherwise, I would appreciate that we all act with the camaraderie that we find so common within this board. The flies are in the mail - let’s do our best to enjoy them!
Chris
PS…did not wet a line in Charleston. Ended up flying down three times in the past month for a few days. The one day I had a half day available to get out on the 'yak, the rental company would not rent to me because of 15+ mph winds (insurance reasons). I was about to pull my hair out because I spotted some reds beforehand a short paddle upstream. Thanks for asking!
Chris you did good, don’t worry about the delay. Sometimes things come up that can’t be helped, working to much family emergencies etc. It would have been nice of this person to notify you that he could not get the flies to you.
Got mine today, and they look great! Nice job everyone. A BIG THANKS to our swapmaster, Chris. Of course, I knew you’d do a fine job running a swap, and hope to see more from you.
Chris - if you see two guys running down your street with pitchforks, its just Gene and myself coming to drag you out fishing (we’re definitely going, weather permitting)…Ed
Thanks to all who participated in this swap. You all have made my first go at being a swap meister extremely enjoyable. Through this, I have rivaled against one of those infamous OSU Buckeye fans :p, discovered some new patterns, and most importantly hooked into a few fish.
Thanks to all and if anyone in the OH, NY, PA region would be interested in getting together, lets try to pick some dates to meet up. Any takers?
