Gray Reef Easter Fishing Report

After hearing many reports about how the reef was so-so lately we headed up for some excellent fishing all weekend. We all managed some fish Sat near the dam section as well as Lusby in the 18"-22" range. Many taking the standard eggs, red midges and San Juanny’s. The weather was quite chilly in the 20’s but well worth the day out.

Sunday back to the Dam to fish and back to good fishing again with some much warmer weather out in the 50’s. After a few hours we headed to another public spot and had it all to ourselves for some Awesome takes. Everyone managed to get a number of fish and I was able to land this beast of a CutBow :cigar: , yes my back up net still waay to small for this as well as another big one that wouldn’t fit and fell out to swim away.

Big fish was caught on a Saltwater fly “Borski #2 Tarpon Fly” love those Salt patterns

Great trip indeed and despite never knowing what the weather will do up there (snow/50mph winds) it turned out perfect to go after big Fish!

What were the pattern’s you were using? I might be going there in a week or two. Also how were you so lucky to not have 15 kazillion poeple around. That one picture is at Lusby right?
