I tied two Granato’s Death Dogs. One in Olive, the other in Shad colors. Articulated Fly, the lead hook is an Eagle Claw plainshank size 2, the trailing hook is the same brand/style in a size 4.
I tested out the Olive one today. It swims well. The water is really tannin-stained right now. I’ll probably have to start working on Firetiger-colored flies.
I typically make the same post on a few different forums, and maybe even on FB. I just cut/paste the text. For some reason, I kept pasting the text in, but it wasn’t showing up. Go figure…
I did go fishing this morning, but didn’t catch anything.
I’m still in “materials acquisition mode” for a lot of the articulated patterns I’ve seen in the past few weeks. For a Chubby Muffin, I’d need the ice wing fiber and red schlappen, and figure out a sub for the dubbing brush head, or order that as well. I don’t have any Flashabou in the appropriate colors, but I know I can get something really darn close at Wally World right now; saw some multi-colored mylar hair accents in the craft department last week.
I bet you can find red hackle at WM (those cheap boas they sell have feathers that’d make a decent sub); bet they have yellow Craft Fur, too, for the head. Looking forward to your next installment.
