Gordon Griffiths Fox Box

several years ago at the Somerset show, I purchased a Gordon Griffiths fly box (Fox Box?). The uniqueness of this box is that flies are held in-place between rubber “clips” as opposed to being made of foam, which can deteriorate over time and use. the rubber material has not shown any deterioration and flies are easily removed and put back with the flies being held at the hook section. I’ve searched the internet but without success. Can anyone be of help in locating a vendor? thanks

I haven’t noticed Fox boxes available for quite a few years. For something similar, you might look at Bug Luggage. Feathercraft stocks them.

Fox boxes are heavy. I have a large Fox box that has only seen occasional use for bass fishing. Since I only carry one box for bass, it’s excessive weight isn’t that bad.

One difference between them is Fox has a full length pin hinge, whereas Bug Luggage has a molded “living hinge” like the flip top of a Tic Tac box.

Here are a couple from Feather-Craft.

These come in a few different sizes.

This is a larger one, that Bugsy was talking about.

thanks for your reply Bugsy and others. I agree with your assessment about the hinge. I’m always afraid that the hinge will snap either because of fatigue or brittleness due to cold weather.

The Rose Creek boxes seem to be a good substitute. thanks again all
