We could not stay home with the weather in the low 60’s. Jack H., Liljoe, WarrenP and myself meet again at the Elk river. Shared the great weather, friendship and even had time to catch a few fish. Thanks guys for sharing you time and wisdom. To let everyone know what I am talking about in wisdom…last Sunday Liljoe was introduced to the guacamole stick bug fly, and on this trip he made some up and was planning on trying them out. He was not having much luck fishing with it until Warren gave him some pointers on how to fish it. He started fishing the way Warren was telling him to fish the fly and BOOM, nice brook on the line. Good weather, Great friends, couldn’t be better.
I must confess that that is me about to go “Bobber Fishing”, didn’t work anyway! Liljoe had found a bright olive larva under a rock, black head curved body about a size 18. The only thing I had that was close was a size 16 that was close to a perfect match. Yeah Right!! But it was a nice day any way.
Hey guy’s! They stocked the Duck Friday!!
How about the Duck this Sunday? It was stocked last Friday and the flow is down to 150. One thing about the Duck, if the trout aren’t biting the bluegills will be! Or maybe a Small Mouth or a Walleye!! Gill’s and Walleye spell FISH FRY!!
I'm all for it. Same time at 12:00Noon? The temp will be in the 60's, so another great day coming our way. Yaaa!!!! for the fish fry. Never had a walleye or small mouth on a fly rod but I will be happy with anything that will starch my line. See you then.
