I know there are quite a few folks here that are furling leaders, so I thought I would see if there is any interest in a swap. (JC and LF, I know this is not the proper place for a swap, but I thought more people would see it.)
The rules will be the same as a fly swap…toe tags, shipping, etc.
The leader can be made out of any spooled material…fly tying thread, mono, sewing thread, etc.
Length and configuration is up to you.
I thought we would limit this one to 10 furlers inculding me. The swap will be left open until November 1, or until we get 10 furlers. Leaders will be due to me by December 1.
OK, who is in?

Brad;
I think I’ll do mine with .004 Coats & Clark clear Nylon, maybe 2# test Berkley “Vanish” flourocarbon, maybe Fire Orange Uni 6/0!! 5’, 6.5’or 7.5’!! Hmmmmm, more decisions, AAARRRRRGGGGGHHH (I’m retired buddy)!! If I did 10 of each that would be…aaaahhhh…my mind just locked up…AAARRRGGHH!! :roll:
If you don’t fill this swap I can sure take up some more spots!! AAARRGGGGHH!!
Have Knit Picker, will travel!!
:twisted: :twisted: :twisted:
Well, I’m building my pegboard this week. If I get it done before you fill up the swap, I’d be interested in taking part (but don’t worry about keeping a spot open for me or anything).

You will make 10 of the same and send them to me. I will post my address when we are full. I will then send each of you 1 leader from each swapper for a total of 10. Make sure you send something to me to return your leaders in. A padded envelope works well for leaders. Don’t forget your return address and return postage. Also, try to “toe tag” your leaders with your formula and the type of material used to construct them.
I hope this clears things up,
Brad
Brad;
I’ll Do 10 6’ in Berkley Flourocarbon 2# test and 10 5’ in Uni Orange 6/0 tying thread.
Don’t forget to remind me to get the material when we meet at Cabela’s!!
Just looked up from writing to find this. Awesome! How cool to see that such a useful and grassroots craft as furling leaders has come from virtually unknown to a swap in just a few years
