2 weeks ago at about 6:45am I slowed down my vehicle and was preparing to stop to go fishing and rolled the windows down.
EXACTLY here I heard what had to be a dozen coyotes almost screaming. It sounded like they were only 30 yards from the road.
I questioned my place to go fishing as being potentially dangerous.
The guy I was with was flabbergasted.
We stopped the vehicle and got out.
The first door slamming silenced the yotes.
Would you have fished here?
Coyote underfur makes darned fine dubbing…

Lets not forget how well coyote fur can be used to make a parka too. 
There have been more documented attacks on humans by coyotes than wolves in the US. One place we hike has seen a number of deer kills by the local coyotes. We have been fortunate to see them only a few times in the past threee years. I would have fished. Kept my eyes open but, fished… (Besides I’m terrified of brown water snakes!)
Would of looked around and see if could get a shot off for some great tying materials!
Will coyotes bit you? Yes, and so will your neighbor’s dog! We have lots of coyotes here in Montana and we I see them in my yard when I spend the winter in Arizona. Like any wild animal I respect them but I am not afraid of them. Would I have fished in a place where I heard coyotes howling or in a place where I saw coyotes in the area? If I had come to fish it would take more than a pack of coyotes to keep me in the car.
In my experience, coyotes only become agressive towards humans if they have become accustomed to having them around in an urban/suburban environment. When I was younger, I attempted to hunt coyotes in the Colorado mountains. We could hear them all the time, but never got close enough to see one. Now, I see them all the time in the suburbs of Denver. As long as the coyotes were not habituated to humans, I don’t think you had anything to worry about.

On my last trip up there we rounded a turn in a narrow creek with my buddy working the oars in 14 ft. raft and ran straight into a brown bear in the middle of the stream… and I was sitting in the front of the raft… HA!

Yes, I would have fished. I was doing a mission and working with Border Patrol in Arizona on the Mexican Border. We would spend sometimes up to 48 hours in the desert and at night we had coyotes all around us. One morning I got up early to take some pictures in low light and there was a coyote about 50 yards away. All he did was sit there and watch me and then went on his way. When I hunted in Alabama, there was a group of maybe a dozen or more that frequented my hunting area but, they were more skitish and would run away although, I did have one walk under my tree stand.
So anyway, what did you do?
