Fly Fishing Lake of the Ozarks

I will be the first to admit I am pushing the season but I am delving into an area I know nothing about.

I am planning to take the RV to Lake of the Ozarks State Park in late April or early May.

I know they do a lot of bass fishing with rod and reel on the lake but what about fly fishing?

Since I do not know much about the Lake of the Ozarks and my fly fishing is usually from a canoe on some Indiana lake for pan fish; how should this newbie approach this lake?.

How would you fly fish the Lake of the Ozarks, canoe, boat, guide service? At this point I am trying to get an idea of what is involved, what is in season and etc.

I have a cousin that has a time-share on the lake and I taught him how to fly-fish from the front deck of a rented Deck Boat one spring. We mostly worked the shallower coves where the water had warmed a bit more than the main lake. Being a warm water fly fisher, most of the time I stayed with the pan-fish and bass basics. Small poppers and foam spiders for the surface and Wooly Buggers in black and Root Beer (orange) from size #12 up to what ever you can and like to throw. I never used a guide there and if I ever go back I will take my solo canoe and basically do the same thing.
