Fly Box Pics

Hey, Ide love to see some pics of your guys fly box’s. To see how they are organized. Im sure alotta boxes are getting filled right now with some winter tying.

Thanks
Doug

My boxes aren’t quite ready yet. Maybe in about a month they’ll be ready. It’s a cool idea though I love to look at others flies and fly boxes. When mine are done I’ll post pictures.

Thought the way that this guy shows his flybox is pretty cool.

The coolest fly box I’ve seen is on the front and back covers of Dave Hughes’ “Essential Trout Flies”. It’s a C&F Design flybox. I think C&F owes him some big advertising bucks because that’s what made me want one, and I’ve aspired to have a C&F that looks that cool ever since I first saw the book cover.

My goal is for it to be filled completely with flies I’ve tied myself.

Don’t know how this topic fell so far down the list because I know people love to look at boxes. Here’s one of mine. I have about 700 flies in this box.

Here’s my Dewitt full of Bergman era wet flies. Hardly what I would call organized, but nice to poke through… Cheers, Alec

Riverdancer (or anyone for that matter), what type of fly box is that in your picture? I have seen pictures of those around and am interested in obtaining one, but I’m not sure what I’m looking for and can never seem to find it. Thanks.

bluehen,

It’s the Scientific Anglers C&F Design Fly Box with the swing leag in the middle designed to hold I think 450 flies from the factory. Cabelas, and other big mail order/internet companies sell them, as well as your local fly shop I’m betting.

Hey flytackle, some nice looking flies in that box. I have a couple fly boxes just like that one, except, well, the flies…lol thanx for the pic.

Spelling and Grammar not subject to judgement…

Riverdancer,
Thanks for your reply. I have ordered the box and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. Hopefully a picture of my fly box organization will follow.

Paflyfisher16,

A few flies to ponder or just boggle the mind.

Not quite like Riverdancer’s, but enough to keep you awake at night.

When I was an Eagle Scout, they said always be prepared, I took that to heart.

I know, I know, I told you guys I had a sickness.

Ring, ring, ring, Hello, Dr. Phil!!!

akalooker,

You can consider my mind boggled. I think its safe to say that you’ve given me something to shoot for. Wow…

Here is a pic of a buddies, that is a big 12 by 16 fly box (i think that is the size), full of streamers.

In case there’s a few brain cells left after the last set of boxes, here’s a couple boxes of streamers just to finish you off!

The following photo is what these streamers look like after performing their intended duty of gettin eaten by very large Trout and Bass.

I think a couple of you have gone flat lined, someone grab the Defibrillator. Hehehehe!!!

ak,
Thanks for posting the pics. Now I gotta go home and get tying. I have some catching up to do.

akalooker, can you post the pattern for the fly you show all chewed up? Seen those flies in a shop and would like to know the name and how to tie them.
