Hey folks.
Can anyone recommend a brand of line with a floating body and an intermediate tip - preferably clear - if it exists?
Should be a coldwater line.
Thanks. e

Here’s three that I am aware of:
Cabelas Prestige Plus No Vis Tip
Scientific Anglers Mastery Wet Tip Clear
Rio Streamer Tip
Also you could go with one of the multi-tip fly lines that come with interchangeable tip. Most of them include a clear intermediate tip.
Pick up a FF catalog(Marriotts,Feathercraft, etc) and you’ll find a number of variaties. I’ve gotten very good performance out of Cortlands ghost-tip, and am using it on a 10wt tarpon outfit and an 8wt smallmouth rod. It gets me down a bit deeper than just a floater, and still allows for a long distance pick-up.
Thanks. I have Marriots. Sweet. Those lines seem to be geared for tropics. The water here in Mass is cold enough to make a man feel like a woman. Has anyone used them in cold water?
Well, I do have the tropic-plus lines, but they’re not a problem here in NW Wis. Haven’t tried them in early May so they could be a bit stiff. Cortland does have the same line in a freshwater version- the clear tip is 15’ rather than the 9’.
Eponymous,
I use the 444SL clear tip for most of my saltwater work in the UK and when visiting striper land. I tend to go for the one with the 15’ clear tip rather than the 5’ clear tip.
Another line I forgot about is the Rio Aqualux Tip line. Floating with 9’ clear intermediate tip. Coldwater line. Available from 4 to 9 wt.
