Very nice! Are those for shadow boxes? I can’t Imagine you would fish those.

Hi Fontinalis,

Those are some beautiful flies! What are the pattern names?

  • Jeff

Very nice flies Fontinalis, sweet lines, very colourful, and nicely tied to boot. the question raised by TyroneFly was - are they for display or to be fished? and i too would like to know the names.

Beautiful Flies!
Doug

Great job Fontinalis.

Is that jungle cock on the fiery dragon and blue fin? I would love to tie some salmon flies but can’t seem to find the feathers I need at the local stores or suitable replacements. Do you have a store that you use or do you buy them off line?

Respectfully,
Sean

I think you should package those up imediatly and send to me for inspection and approval, j/k beautiful classics!
Zach

Beautiful flies, I think you should do a fly of the week on one of them or at least post the official patterns, they are amazing.

The nubby tack that they are sitting on…is that in a fly box or a big sheet? My boss is looking for a sheet of nubby tack to put in some fancy wooden fly boxes he is making but cannot find the nubby tack in “bulk”.

Excellent, Dwight

Hi Dwight:

The Nubby Tak is in my fly box. If I come across any I will let you know.

                                                              Fontinalis

Very nice job! 8T  Really beautiful!

The only guy I know who ties flies like those is Andy Brasko. Nice to see your work again Andy. Don would be proud!
Eric

Those are works of art, should have all the fish gazing at them for sure!!

Dwight is right, you got to put together a Fly of the Week and get JC to post.

On a lighter note I’d love to see what you put together when you are not bored!

Great job
Jim

Love those flies. Beautifully done. Perfect rib wraps, eh?
Eric, missing your Old Flies and stuff. Where ya been?
Mark

Fontinalis,

Those flies are truely superb. I am interested in trying my hand at tying some vintage style wets. Someday I might be able to tie some as good as those you have posted (I donbt it though). I do have some questions for you about materials. I have searched far and wide for wet fly hooks that have the classic look of the hooks your flies are tied on. Are those a currently available brand of hook or are they vintage? Do you mind revealing what they are? Also, what is the body floss (silk uni-floss etc)?

Flyfshr:

For show fly’s I use Mustad 3399’s and for When I am fishing I use Mustad 3906. The flies tied in the Picture used the Mustad 3399. Far as floss I use the Danville 4 strand floss spools. Danville has all the classic colors for tying these flies.

                                                                  Thanks
                                                                 Fontinalis
