Some mods to a previous pattern
Again, tied here as a callibaetis; change color/size to suit your needs.
hook - Mustad 3906B #14
underbody - non-tox .015 (optional)
thread - Danville 6/0 brown
rib - x-small copper wire
tail - pheasant tail
flashback - mylar holo copper
abdomen - ostrich herl tan
wing case - pheasant tail
thorax - ostrich herl tan
legs - partridge
Part 1
mash barb, wrap shank with non-tox; cover with thread, tie in rib
measure (gap width past bend) some pheasant tail fibers; tie in/trim
tie in flashback
tie in ostrich, twist, wrap to 2/3 mark; tie off but don’t trim
pull tinsel forward; tie off/trim
counterwrap rib; helicopter end, cover with thread

Part 2
tie in some more pheasant tail fibers
wrap thorax; tie off/trim
tie in partridge by tip; wrap, tie off/trim
pull wingcase forward
tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

Nice tie, Scott. This pattern works shockingly well for me unweighted and without flash, but I do like your variant. I tend to use turkey for the wingcase and hen saddle for the legs but those are pretty minor modifications. Not sure if you’ve had the opportunity to use this pattern during a callibaetis hatch, but it is a very effective pattern when the gulpers are out.
