Another way to skin Mr. Quigley?s cat. Notional sequence, tied as a generic here; change color/size to suit your needs.
hook - Dai Riki 300 #12
thread - UTC 140 rusty brown
rib - x-small wire copper
tail/abdomen- pheasant tail
shellback/shuck - Congo Hair brown
thorax - Ice Dub pheasant tail
wing - Deer hair
hackle - grizzly/brown
Part 1
Mash barb/start thread; tie in rib, wrap to bend

Measure (gap width past bend) some pt fibers; tie in


Tie in CH facing forward over eye to 2/3 mark

Wrap pt forward to 2/3 mark; tie off/trim

Fold CH back, capture with wire rib, continue rib forward; tie down, helicopter end, cover with thread, trim shuck


Dub thread/dub thorax to 3/4 mark

Part 2
Clean, stack, measure (hook length) a clump of deer hair; tie in/trim butts even with thorax


Tie in hackles

Wrap, tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

Trim out hackle underneath
