Not a flyrod in site (exept mine) and I had a blast!
First was with my nephew. Took him out in the canoe and in 3 hours he caught more fish in a day than he had in his entire life. He said that he beat me 8 fish to 7.
Then an event where we taught kids to cast closed reel spinning rods and took them to the river.
Tova loved the mud and she caught a worm.
Keiran wanted to go fishing for months and finally had his chance. This fish made his day.

Good timing Jed,
The oldest boy is bouncing off the walls this eve, As we have set plans for an am fishing excursion. Weather permitting,As we are getting some heavy thunder storm action as I type…Hoping the creek I’m planning to hit will be in decent shape.
He’s even threatening to go to bed early…lol…which I’m making sure that he does not!!! I’m not an early riser on Saturday’s…lol…I do that all week…still be on the water by 7:30 for sure though…ummm NO that is not early…lol
Wish I had a digital camera at the moment I am looking into a new one,but have not found a place locally that carries the Pentax W 10…
Great pic’s of the kids very kewl!!!
thanks for sharing…

I recently took my 10 yr old son to Montana to fish the Maddison. We stayed with friends whose place was walking distance to the river. He out fished me the first 3 days but I spent a lot of time untangling rods. We had a great time and he made huge leaps in his skills and he a darn good indicator fisherman considering he just tried it on this trip. I posted a report on the NCFFB site. Her is the URL.
Nice pics Jed, especially the mud…I’m sure there’s a good story behind that one. Looks like everybody had a grand ol’ time…and it’s nice to hear you didn’t give up the fly-rod for the weekend!
