OK…heading to Disney in the 1st half of Jan…for our anniversary…the Florida version 
My part of the gift…a day off to flyfish if I can make it happen. SO…who out there has any experience or thoughts on available prospects/guides/nearby waters, that would be possible? Is it Redfish season? What is the bassfishing like this time of year down there?..etc etc.

Mosquito Lagoon is your best bet. It is a great redfish fishery and can be fished year round. It is about 45 minutes from Orlando, or maybe an hour from Disney. The only guide I know over there is John Kumiski http://www.spottedtail.com/rates/ , but there are a lot of others.
I’m not a bass fisherman, but there are a lot of bass lakes in the area around Orlando. Many are know for large bass, but I still would recommend hitting the salt. Its not very far from Orlando.

My dad got to go on a half-day guided trip AT Disney. Walked out of the hotel, down to the marina, and onto the boat. From what he has told me, the guide was WAY cool and it was well worth it. Caught a ton of bass, several well over 10#. He wasn’t fly fishing, but it would be worth a call to see if they would be cool with it.
