Fishing in NC

Hey guys I am going to visit my granparents in Asheville, NC this weekend and I was hoping to get in some fishing while I was there on Saturday weather permitting. Does anyone know of some good places to go in that area? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks Brandon

A few weeks ago I went to Brevard. It was my first trout trip and had a lot of fun. Here is a map: [url=http://www.wildlife.state.nc.us/pg03_Fishing/transy.pdf:a122e]http://www.wildlife.state.nc.us/pg03_Fishing/transy.pdf[/url:a122e]
I don’t think it is that far from Ashville for a day trip. If you get down there try the East Fork French Broad River they should of stocked it some time this month. You can get directions from the great guy at Davidson River Outfitters. The Shelton Laurel delayed harvest section is not too far north of Asheville and is usually less crowded than some of the more well known areas.
