Fly-Fishing Techniques Fly-Fishing Techniques - Deep Swing With Retrieve

Deep Swing With Retrieve

This technique is best when fish are holding in deep
pools. Position yourself upstream of the fish and cast
across the current and slightly downstream. After casting,
pay out as much fly line as needed to allow the fly and
line to sink to the desired depth. Let the fly swing
until it is hanging in the current below you. Retrieve
the fly with varied speeds until you find the retrieve
that attracts a fish.
