I’m looking for a well preserved, factory built, brown, Fisher GT-40 in either:

9’ - 4 piece - 3/4 weight

9’ - 4 piece - 4/5 weight

Fisher also made all the Scientific Anglers rods back in the 70’s - there are still some of those around as well. In fact, if you have a 4 wt let me know.

I have two J. Kennedy Fisher GT-40’s. 8.5 ft 5/6 wts. One I have fished since the 1980’s and I have rewrapped the guides twice. The other is a brand new identical back up. They are wonderful fly rods.

Mine are 2 pc rods. Were they even made in 4 pc?

Four piece ?

Yes, we sold them for several years. They came in other configurations too, even three and four piece multi - weight versions.

These rods aren’t rare by any means ( at least not here in their home range ), you see them pop up from time to time. But like most things, finding one or two specific rods when you’ve got a Jones going for one, is a trick.
