First Warmwater Adventure

I made my first trip last week where I was specifically targeting warm water species. I caught 3 crappie 2 small bass and as many bluegill as I wanted to catch. I had a blast. Most of my fish came on a chartruse crappie candy fly I got from FAOL.

Trout Bum??? You might want to consider changing your “handle” (lol). I have caught a lot a warm water fish from Lake Britton which is near Redding.

Yes from what I understand Lake Britton has a good population of crappie and smallmouth. I am not ready to give up the trout quite yet I spent the last 4 days on the Upper Sac and caught some beutiful fish. I have to admit though it was a nice change fishing from the boat and not beating my-self up so bad.

Trout fishing and warm water fishing could be considered as two separate worlds - - so why not enjoy the best of both of them? I love fishing small creeks for native trout as well as trying for crappie & bass.

I think you are right Tim.
