Chris Helm’s Cricket, Hope I can do him justice.
Glass bead Chironomid.
Stupid me, I wonder “Glass bead body fly” sounds like you’re looking for flies whose bodies are made off glass beads? I know a sensational pattern for trout. With a body off glass beads and dubbing inbetween them.
Cheers
Sjo
Sjo that was the idea. I have two patterns that work very well for me.

Golden Nugget Stone Fly for me!
I remember seeing an interesting Matuka tied with beads on here. I’ll try to find it and tie it.
Found it: http://www.flyanglersonline.com/flytying/fotw2/021003fotw.php
I’m in, I think I’ve seen a glass bead caddis. I’ll see if I can find it and tie a dozen.
That’s a nice pattern, Luke. I look forward to fishing that one!
I’m in with a bead body damselfly nymph.
I think GreyGhost may have an evil streak. The materials required are proving to be very difficult to locate. The beads and lemon yellow 26ga wire are giving me fits! Luke
While looking for my supplies, I saw 26ga yellow wire at hobby lobby, it’s in the jewelry section with the beads
JoAnn has 34 guage in silver and gold. IN th beading area.

I have a pattern for a bead body caddis pupa that I am sure will catch some trout.
Thanks. I’ll hit Hobby Lobby again this weekend. The wire in the photos of the Matuka looks like painted wire and the stuff at my local H.L. is metalic, but it will have to do. I got some beads there last night that are not the same, but I guess they’ll do too. I may be a little too picky. I’m not very experienced in “off-recipie” adventures. Luke
Flies are done and will be in the mail Monday.
