Nice looking tie. It’s interesting that this one and the Rusty Rat you posted earlier are so different from the patterns of the same names that I am used to seeing here.

If you look at the first couple of lines in the above link, you’ll see what I think of as a Fall Favorite. Silver tinsel body, red hackle and orange bucktail wing. I could be PNW regional, I don’t know. Obviously there are different patterns with the same name.

in the book “perrault’s standard dictionary of trout flies” there are 7 different recipes for the rusty rat, 6 in the salmon fly section of recipes and 1 in the streamer section. which one is the original? i wouldnt know
