doing a search on different glow in the dark fly lines i run across this… a glow in the dark foam sheet…

just wandering if anyone has tried this for tying foam flies, how good it worked, what fly ya tied with it, how long it glows and any other information ya might have…
I tie thousands of foam flies each year and never ran across it.
I’m sure going to try some.
If you want to know how well it glows in the dark, shoot it with a camera flash. Then see how long it lasts. That is the brightest test you can give it and it should last about a minute or it’s not worth the effort. But that color could have some possibilities anyway.

Cool! I have the glow in the dark rubber, that makes killer legs and, Glow in the dark Thread that I have made small streamers, Chironomids and FURLED LEADERS. They just don’t stay light for very long

I found sheets of this stuff after halloween a few years back. haven’t used it yet but have 3-4 full sized sheets of it.
He’s been teaching classes on foam flies in the UK, I’ll send this his way and see what he knows.
He says this stuff has been around for a while - doesn’t know how long it would hold the light either, but thinks the best use would be on top of flies so the angler could see the fly, if it works. Not so much for fish to see. Also mentioned for day use he has found pink to be superior for visibility.:lol:

the foam hold the light for 5-15 min sometimes more depending how long you expose it to light. a blacklight charges the glow in the dark the best. i have used this stuff for foam crafts and other things for a few years.
