It’s so rare to find anything championing integrating fly fishing in schools in print, that it just couldn’t hurt to pass a little reading homework along to them
I have to tip my hat to Associate editor Joe Healy for running a piece like that… too bad he’s left the magazine now.
Sure! It’s a look at ways to integrate fly fishing into schools, whether during an activity period, as a club, or part of physical education courses, including the legwork someone on the inside (like you) must do - you know the kind: permission slips, etc. The hope is to illustrate that there are schools across the country that are looking for lifelong wellness activities, especially since the publishing of "Last Child in the Woods’.
It’s certainly not meant to be political, or even to suggest that everyone should do it, just that it is being done and is a viable option
