Diamondback Flawless Fly rod

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this rod. I am considering a 9wt to use for northern pike and also to take on our next winter trip to Key West. I am going to cast one at a show this weekend, but always like to hear from those who may own or have cast the rod.

Cortland closed the Diamondback factory last year and the rods are now made offshore. I have no idea if/how changes were made, do cast first. Always a smart thing to do.
