Design Change in Store for Korkers Konvertables

I don’t mean this in any way as a knock on the product because I have them and like them very much but this is just a heads up.

I was told by Korkers that the strap with the Velcro that is now used to secure the replaceable sole is going away in 2007. The new design will be the rubber strap and button system as described by Steve Zweber in this week’s product review on the Korkers Torrent River Runner.

The old sole design will be available for 2-3 years or longer if demand is high. So I guess if you are in the market for the Korkers and can wait, you may want to hold off and get the latest & greatest. If you have the old version like me, you may want to get an extra set of soles in the near future.

Darn, and I just bought a pair this spring.

Why did they tell you that? And now, we should all hold off and not buy any until we see what is going to happen, for sure. Right?

They told me, three years ago, that they were going to start making them a bit wider.

That still has not happened.

I think the velcro is the better way to go. I hate snaps of any kind…

Ahhh, just buy them now and enjoy them. If it becomes an issue that you need another sole later on just buy them with the new design. Sounds like a good excuse to spend more money on the latest and greatest thing.

Come to think of it I need to replace the spikes on mine. They are all worn down and I am beginning to slip a little on the big rocks in the river.
