Cote's Branchu SBS

Branchu - French Canadian for wood duck. Original pattern calls for seal fur dubbing. I was fresh out so I cut up some rug yarn, ran it through the coffee grinder, and used that (thanks Doug http://55onthefly.blogspot.com/2013/11/making-dubbing-101-step-by-step-by-doug.html); seems to have a nice sheen and I have a clearer conscience.
Speaking of which - A baby seal walks in to a bar. Bartender says “what’ll you have”. The baby seal says “anything but a Canadian Club; on the rocks”.

Wasn’t happy with the way the hackle turned out so I bladed it off and went with some Indian Hen, which laid down the way I wanted
