I know that Penn State University sells PSU Flyfishing hats (baseball cap), but I am trying to find others.
Does anyone know of any other college flyfishing hats?

Not to be a wise guy but is there something special about a PSU hat that makes it a fly fishing hat?
If not; you can get ANY college logo on a baseball cap try New Era; they sell both adjustable and fitted caps:

PAFF,
Don’t know of too many “advanced studies” institutions that offer courses in fly fishing other than Penn State. I think Joe Humphries illuded to some the last time we spoke. They escape me just now. An interesting thread to chase though. Best to ya. MPK

PAFF,
Would you happen to know the out come of the name choice of the propposed PSU Baseball team…there was a post on here a good while back where you could vote on which of I think around 6 preselected names…the one I remember was Anglers…lol…also the one I cast my votes at…Just courious…as I’ve not heard anything since…
“I’ve often wondered why it is that so many anglers spend so much money on,and pay so much attention to.the details on the wrong end of the fly line.If they took as much care in selecting or tying their flies as they did in the selection of the reel and rod,They might be able to gain the real extra edge that makes it possible to fool a fish that has,in fact, seen it all before” A.K.Best
Everyone wants to excel in this sport but at the same time we let traditionalists place restrictions on our tactics, methods, and ideas. I always assumed that fly fishing was a sport that allowed imagination, creation, adaptation, investigation, dedication, education, revelation? : Fox Statler, On Spinners (Not the dainty Dry Fly kind) “Spinner’d Minner Fly”

The name was officially announced today. They are to be known as the “Spikes”. Their mascot is the white tail deer.
I believe the hat’s logo is “Penn State Fly Fishing”, not just “Penn State”. I saw a guy wearing one at the Fly Tying Symposium last week end.
I posted this on the wanted board too.
I’m part of the University of Colorado Flyfishing Club. We don’t have hats, but we have tshirts. I’m about ready for a new fishing hat, so I might bring that up at our next board meeting…
I know that the University of Wyoming also has a flyfishing club. We’re hopefully going to get together with them this spring for a few days of fishing…
Bamboozle,
It is a specific Penn State Fly Fishing hat not just with a college logo. Good point of clarification - I should have made that more clear.
PSU is the only one I have seen on the web. The USMA has a cadet fly fishing t-shirt but not hats.
In fact, if you look at a recent Orvis catalog, joe Humphries is wearing his. That is what I am looking for.
MPK - can you ask him how/where he got it and how can I get one/
Much thanks.

PAFF, Try this link:

If that doesn’t work, just enter ‘Penn State fly fishing hat’ in Google and click the ‘I’m feeling lucky’ button. It’ll bring you right to it.

‘Don’t know, what you don’t know.’
dw,
That’s another one I saw - thanks. However, something tells me it is just wrong to wear that hat no matter how much I like it. I am a Pitt grad!
That being said, boy, I sure would like it!

PAFF:
If you have no luck by Christmas I’ll ask my cousin when I see him to ask Joe where he got his. They tailgate together at PSU home games.
Bamboozle,
Thanks a lot - very kind of you.

PAFF:
I asked my Aunt tonight to ask her son to ask Joe; (how do you like that; confused?); about the hat.
So as soon as my cousin takes in another PSU home game and runs into Joe I should have an answer for you unless you get the info sooner.
Glad to help a fellow PA fisherman; have a great Thanksgiving!
The mans a PSU Professor is he not!!!..I’d tend to think hes got conections…lol…that and I’m sure that his “friend”…Need I name him…???
Can get anything PSU/Flyfishing related with NO trouble…
The Spikes…???
Thats just wrong…To have the “Father of American Flyfishing”…and to have been the first school to offer Flyfishing as a course of study…George Harvey has got to be disapointed, I feel anything other than Anglers should be viewed as a slap in the face to the rich history of Angling that surround’s PSU and central PA…
Bamboozle - any developments on the hats?
Best regards,
paff
paff:
No. They, (my cousins), haven’t gone to any PSU games lately or seen Joe.
I’ll get a better handle on things when I see everybody over Christmas.
Sorry .
Bamboozle - no hurries & no worries - I do appreciate your help.
Regards,
Chris
Duke has fly-fishing hats, or did. My eldest son, a Duke alum, picked one up for me when he was back in Durham and it became my birthday present. He said they were made for a fly-fishing course taught as part of the PE curriculum.
I know Missouri State University in springfield has a flyfishing class don’t know if they have hats but will get a hold of one of the teachers I am sure Mister Reading will know.
