Definitely add vinegar. I swear I had a thread on here showing how I dyed with Koolaid (pretty much the same when using RIT dye) but I can’t find it. Here’s a linkto it over on the Washington Flyfishing site. I’ve got to move those pics off of Photobucket, re-load and I’ll post it over here.
Thanks Scott! It’s been a while since I have done any material dyeing with Kool-A-d but I do remember vinegar was needed for setting the color. I wanted to make sure this was still the case.
You’re welcome. To tell the truth, I’ve switched over to RIT for most of my dyeing now - color selection is good and it’s much easier to mix and get consistent results; it was a crapshoot with Koolaid.
