Choosing the size of recoil guides

Hello, I am in the process of rebuilding my 5 wt 9ft rod. I would like to change the guides with recoil guides, but I am not sure how many guides of each size I need.
I wrote recoil but received no answer.
Any suggestion from you?

thanks guys

Welcome to FAOL. You’ll get a lot of good information for all things fly fishing, and if we don’t have the answers here, we know where to direct you to get it. Here is a reference from this site to help you get started with the correct size guides: http://www.flyanglersonline.com/begin/graphite/part8.php

Here is the continuation of that lesson with the proper guide spacing chart: http://www.flyanglersonline.com/begin/graphite/part9.php

If you have not done this type of repair before, the whole 12 part lesson is worth reading before getting started.

Here is a reference from another site to also look at for comparison of guide sizes and spacing: http://www.flyfisherman.com/rodbuilding/index6.html

Don’t be afraid to ask if you have questions.

Joe

Not knowing which guide style your talking about, I’d go 12, 4,2,1, than 1/0s to tip on snakes.
Same sizes on single foot, but they don’t make anything smaller than a 1 if I remember right.
