Checkpoint Charlie Creek TR

A little more poking around on blue lines, this one brushing the flanks of our neighbor to the north. Take off, eh? that’s McKenzie Brother’s country.

Grousing about

First impression is promising but not gonna risk a 40’ slide down loose scree

Easier access a mile up the road and I’m getting my boots wet

Pretty enough but the fishing did not whelm me. After an hour of skunk with a hint of back-bacon, I retreated downstream a bit

And found a few westies looking up

Although foam on foam is usually first out of the box, doing it on the natch can be fun, too

Mr. Roberts’ Drake

Last train to Splitsville

Smoke’s getting a bit thicker every day; although most is still being imported, it’s just a matter of time before that changes

Regards,
Scott

Your photos (which are awesome) make me miss that side of the country (and the fishing). Not sure I’m going to make it out there this fall. :frowning:
