was at ollies the other day and looked in there book section. I found three tying books, one that i already had. i bought the other two for 4.99 each. there reg. prices were $27, and $25. i have gotten other books from ollies all at great prices. if you have one near you its worth it to go and check it out.
Guess I’m lucky to have a fine city library–Just returned 5 that I could renue on the internet. It must have over 100 ffishing and tying books. If I see one that I feel should be added I put in a request and they purchase the book and I become the first on the reading list. I do find some in a 1/2 price book store – Poul Jorgensens two books, $40 for $9 each.
While it wouldn’t qualify as a cheap book; if you already haven’t done so, consider taking a drive to Clouser’s Fly Shop in Middletown. You can buy a SIGNED copy of Bob’s books, possibly meet Bob and get a couple of Clouser tied Clousers to boot.
I recently bought “Clouser’s Flies” there the other day to add to my collection of signed fly tying books. Trust me when I tell you it will be something you’ll treasure once the old guys are all gone.
Bamboozle… where is this shop?? I’m assuming you mean Middletown, PA? I live right up the road and I’ve never been down there… didn’t even know it was there!!
hey Bamboozle does Bob own and run the shop? would be cool to meet him. i’ll have to get there sometime. I’ll be in the Harrisburg area one of these weekends, my dad wants to go.
Yup, the shop is right in their house! I wasn’t lucky enough to meet Bob when I was there but the next time I’m in the area I’m going to call ahead so I can get my book personally inscribed.
Buy some flies tied by Bob & Bob Jr. You’ll be glad you did someday.
Between the internet opportunities, and the library. (We live in suburban Kansas City, MO and the suburban cities share Midcontinent Library) which shows 122 fly tying titles, and 412 fly fishing titles.
