I seem to be having no luck getting into the faol chat room. I can click chat on the home page or the bb and it acts like its gonna work then a box pops up saying connection failed. I click ok then it does it again & again. It does not let me in at all. Am i doing something wrong here ? Does anyone else have the same problem ?

Nope. I was on the Chat site last night, no prtoblems getting logged in. I suspect if you were not logged in to the main FAOL site there would be a problem if the Chat site thought you were a guest.

I will log in right now to the chsat site, see if you can get in, I noticed you are logged into the main page.

Had that problem Saturday nite, and I thank Rainbowchaser for sticking with me … for almost3 hours … to work out why I couldn’t get in. Check your security settings, and if you have pop ups blocked, un block them, then try again to enter through the bottom of the chat listing on the BB page. It worked for me, it may work for you … worth a try!

Still aint working, i get the same popup Connection failed. Popup blocker is disabled.

Is your flash player up to date? Also check the settings on your flash player. At one time I had the privacy and security settings on mine so high that it was rendered useless.

how do you change flash settings ?

If you have windows, go to your control panel and click on flash player. If you are using a Mac, I have no idea.

That is not the problem. I just messed my settings up and I can still get into chat. I’m out of ideas. I’ll post if anything else occurs to me.

Is this a new problem? have you been in the chat room since the new one went up? If so, what did you change on your computer since then?

aint been able to get in since the chat room changed but was able to before with no problem…

You might check your anti virus programs settings and firewall settings but I think you will need help from someone who understands computers if there is nothing obvious there. I’m just groping around in the dark when I try to work with these things.

well, finally got in after working with verizon wireless… My wireless modem wounlnt allow access to the chat but i got it fixed… I left a typing in the chatroom whileago but nobody was on… It works now anyhow… Denny, thanks for calling me yesterday and trying to help get the problem fixed…
