The recipe for a Cardinalle streamer calls for cerise marabou. I have quite a selection but have never seen this color advertised. Can anyone help?
Ray if my memory serves me right, the wing was cerise or basically florescent pink marabou. the body was the same color with a collar of yellow hackle. I do remember the fly was popularized by Paul Kukonen of Worcester Mass… Not sure if he was the originator, but every program or show he always had a mess of his Cardinelles. Universal Vise Company was the only supplier of cerise marabou that I know of, I probably have a small package salted away somewhere. By the way I never caught a fish on it.
Hi Gene; You’re right about Kukonen’s programs and sales. I have a couple of his ties from a T.U. meeting. The only difference I note is that his bodies were a shade more like orange. The reason I’m looking is that a member of our little tying club frequently visits Maine to fish and I understand that this is where the pattern got it’s reputation.
I kind of think of cerise as a dark hot pink. (if that makes any sense at all!) Hot pink with a little purpleish tint to it…
Hey Ray, I will try to look tonight to see if I have any, if I do, I will gladly send you a pack. This is very, very similar to fuschia colored, which I have a hard time
getting sometimes. I tie shad flies with those colors.

Ray,
Not sure if this is the exact shade you are looking for, but Feather-Craft also has it in the new UV2 enhanced. Color #16.

It can be hard to find. Around here, Flo cerise is the killer color for sanjuan worms. And when you see it on the rack…grab it! LOL
It’s a done deal guys. Thanks for the hand holding.
